Credits and Billing
Credits
Credits are the platform billing unit. Balances, usage, and billed values are decimal strings in the API. Do not recalculate them with binary floating-point types.
Unified token rate
Current token billing combines input, output, cache-read, and cache-write tokens under one rate. Refer to the current models and pricing pages for applicable rates.
Reservation and settlement
A request may temporarily reserve Credits. At completion, actual usage is settled and the remainder is released. Usage already generated by an interrupted stream may still be billed.
Usage and statements
Use the customer portal or /v1/usage for usage and /v1/balance for the current balance. Personal statements use UTC calendar months, while pages may display dates in the account timezone.
Credit expiry
Expiry depends on the plan or top-up rules in effect at purchase. Treat current entitlements, expiry dates, and purchase snapshots in the customer portal as authoritative.
